2004 Gretsch Country Classic
(aka "Country Gentleman")
Guitar is in new, mint condition.
Acquired from overstocked Gretsch dealer.
History:
Chet Atkins originally endorsed the "Country Gentleman"
guitar and name with Gretsch. In the 1980's he switched
his endorsement to GIbson who began producing their version of
the "Country Gentleman" guitar. Gretsch renamed their model,
" Country Classic". Same guitar ... different name.
In 2007 the people managing Atkin's estate switched the
endorsement back to Gretsch and the Country Classic became
the Country Gentleman again. This guitar was built during
the "Country Classic era.
